By August 2, 2026 the Steam page sits near 1,800 reviews at 92% Very Positive — a clear recovery and climb from 88% on 177 reviews (July 25) and 91% on 1,093 reviews (July 29). Cup Dog Games shipped readable telegraphs, a Focus loop that rewards observation, and a true-ending chain that doubles campaign mastery.

The Wand Report’s 7/10 (July 24) still names the tradeoffs: hitbox quibbles, keyboard Focus friction, and hub dialogue pacing. Rock Paper Shotgun, GamesRadar, Gamemeca, and Steam text lean warmer on combat feel, pixel animation, and Steam Deck sessions after Verified status landed July 30.

Combat Depth Beyond the Demo

Retail expands past The Beast and Faye into Mana Source variety (poison Gravekeeper, dual priests, lava Angel, splitting Plaguebearer), Capital Ghost possession rules, Roy’s knife duel, and Alcina’s weapon swaps — then True Difficulty hides HP bars entirely. Darts and Sunder Slash are not optional flourish; they answer red-flash and purple-grab languages the demo only hinted at.

Expect 10–12 hours for a story clear, longer for Kingdom Reclaimed, memories, and 38 achievements. Leaderboards and Meditation rematches extend mastery without open-world padding.

Who Should Buy

Buy if you want Titan Souls / Eldest Souls pacing with richer build and hub systems, or a Verified Deck boss gauntlet. $17.99 through August 5 is easy to justify after the free demo. Skip if you need exploration RPGs or hate one-hit true-route finales.
