Rubinite True Ending Guide
Last updated: August 2026
Start From the Cleared Save — Not a Fresh File
After your first Witch Alcina victory, credits roll and Steam can unlock Maybe the End. That is a route prompt, not the finish line. Return to the continue screen and load the same file that just cleared Alcina. In White Space, speak with the figure and choose the response that wakes Ruby and rejects the offered illusion — the story resumes as True Difficulty on that file.
Back up the save before the White Space choice. Starting a brand-new file discards the continuation. Confirm you are on the true route when the opening boss chain restarts without reliable health bars, healing no longer forgives greedy exchanges, and Monastery events toward Mira begin after the repeated Faye section.
Monastery Loop, Mira, and the Nun’s Room
True Difficulty is not “same route but faster.” Between Mana Source clears, return to the Monastery: enter new memories / Phantom Doors, leave through intended exits, exhaust fresh dialogue, then rest. Eventually a night event asks Ruby to follow Mira manually through the Monastery into the Nun’s Room — do not skip by jumping straight to another boss destination.
Complete the central memory and search the room. Mira’s investigation opens the underground path that leads to the Red-Eyed Tree. Mira’s Shadow (reported as a one-hit buffer) is early proof the Monastery chain is advancing — treat it as learning insurance, not a license to stand in finished punishes.
Red-Eyed Tree Before Roy — Then Dark Ruby
Fight the Red-Eyed Tree before Roy. Manage roots and flowers as lane pressure; build Focus only when the floor is clear. Take the Tree’s root back to Mira and finish her confirming conversation before approaching Roy. Winning Roy without that return often repeats the bad first-route outcome.
After Roy falls, continue the rescue sequence into his internal battle and defeat Dark Ruby so Pureblood control releases and Roy survives. Later, Puppet Master (mother puppet + two hands) rewards sequencing over panic — dart red aerials, Sunder Slash committed grabs, abandon damage when hands and center overlap. Reject idealized family substitutes in the following scenes so Mark of Courage can become the legendary Rubinite talisman.
Legendary Rubinite, Real Alcina, Kingdom Reclaimed
Legendary Rubinite is a five-slot talisman that removes the ordinary mark cap — plan the remaining slot for the failure you are still making. Supportive dialogue with Mira before the finale (Leave the Rest to Me! cluster) matters; choose the answer that reassures her and verify the unlock.
The real Alcina fight adds a Blood Moon survival phase beyond the apparent ending. After the win, Kingdom Reclaimed confirms the true ending. RUBINITE (all-caps achievement) separately requires clearing on Normal difficulty — do not confuse story True Difficulty with the Normal/Story mode picker. Audit backward if the ending trophy is missing: Rubinite equipped, Mira exchange done, Roy alive after Dark Ruby, root returned before Roy, Nun’s Room complete, same Maybe the End save.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get the true ending on a new save?
No. Load the file that earned Maybe the End, reject the White Space illusion, and continue that chain.
What if I fight Roy without the Tree root?
Community reports say Roy’s rescue fails and the bad outcome repeats. Defeat Red-Eyed Tree, return the root to Mira, then fight Roy.
Is Hardcore the same as True Difficulty?
True Difficulty / hardcore continuation is the post-credits one-hit route. See Hardcore Mode guide for rule changes.
Which achievement is the true ending?
Kingdom Reclaimed. Maybe the End is only the first Alcina clear.
